  1. Ha...In my opinion, the only thing you NEED out of all of that is a good car seat and a stroller...and even the stroller can wait a few weeks after baby comes before you actually want to leave the house and take baby outside. My advice is to stick with the very basics...small amount of clothes, nappies and somewhere to sleep and buy other things AS YOU NEED THEM. I wasted a lot of money buying all kinds of things before baby came, and never even used them. Also, you get given HEAPS of stuff...so its really best to hold out...oh, and with your talent you can make a lot of stuff yourself!

  3. holy crap! i like this. and i do have advice cuz my coworker is hapai.
if you want a video monitor, i heard a lot of them break fast [breakfast!], so get it from costco so you can return it in case it breaks. look on amazon for all the baby bestsellers. also, get a snotsucker aspirator & one of those wrap things (or just make your own) to carry baby in.
    :D

  5. Yea I think it's start with the have to's and add as needed. I guess you need gift cards because then you can get as needed. Or maybe I'm not a gifted shopper nor do I know much about the latest and greatest. I hope someone else has more to offer you. I'll just send lots a love and keep open to advise of those that know

  6. Hey you!
Okay so my advice is start with the necessary things. Choose the carseat and stroller that you like the best. Video monitor was never something I wanted because baby sleeps in the room with us. I would opt for a cheaper baby monitor, one that just does the noise. I love Julius' bumbo chair, I think those are necessities for sure...Bassinet vs crib vs playpen or all three is just a matter of opinion. A lot of playpens come with a bassinet attachment so you can use it as a playpen for them when they're older. We just got one of those and I love it. I use it as a crib for Julius now (although he sleeps in our bed most times) and will use it as a crib for the next baby, after it outgrows the bassinet. Ummmm baby food, I just got little containers and boiled stuff like rice, veggies, chicken, fruits, pureed them in a blender and either put them in the fridge or froze them. Baby food is easy, there's so much info on it, but it's really pretty simple I think.

Biggest thing that I didn't see on here, is whether you'll need a breastpump or not. If you're going to breastfeed, my biggest biggest recommendation is to get a breastpump, and get your baby used to the bottle from a young age so that you can go on dates without baby sometimes. We haven't gone out without Julius yet because until this week, when I weaned him because hello I'm pregnant again lol, he would NOT take a bottle. So I could never leave him. I loved breastfeeding, but it got to be tiring when I couldn't leave baby with anyone because he wouldn't take a bottle. I know they say "nipple confusion" and all that but I have lots of friends who have given their babies breastmilk or formula in a bottle from a young age and it worked great for them. I have a Medela pump and it works great, is easy and fast. Anyways, I am so excited for you when are you due? I want to see belly pics!
We will have babies so close in age YAY!

Oh, and you need a boppy. I don't even know what people did before boppies were invented. Those are awesome.

Love you! Sorry so long the reply lol. I'll facebook you if I think of anything else. And let me know if YOU think of anything else too! I know it gets overwhelming.

  7. thanks ash yeah its overwhelming!
breast pumps... yeah kind of scary don't know why probably cause i haven't gotten there yet... but you are the third person to tell me i need to look in to it. when do you need them for? i know it sound stupid but if you are the 24/7 food supply when are you using it for? just a question i figured you may know?.... just keep the info coming!
